One Weekend in Weng, Austria: Six Airbnb Styling Fixes

An open-plan Alpine apartment needs clear listing photos. In one room, guests need to see where they'll relax, eat and sleep, and the first photos need to show all three. This Weng apartment had good bones: a teal sofa with personality, a small dining spot by the balcony, and a bed alcove. The listing photos didn't show any of that.
We booked it as a Camera-Ready Refresh: one weekend of styling, followed by new listing photos from Sofia. Here's exactly what we changed for the listing photos.
Fix 1: Give the open plan clear zones

In the original photos, everything blended together. The sofa, the table and the bed all fought for attention, and the room read as "small and busy." We didn't move walls or buy a new sofa. We used a rug to anchor the living zone, angled the sofa so it faced the room instead of the wall, and kept a clear walking line from the door to the balcony. Guests can now read three distinct areas in one wide photo.
Why it matters: clear zones help guests understand how the apartment works.
Fix 2: Make the teal sofa the hero

The teal sofa was the most memorable thing in the apartment, so we built the palette around it. Warm neutral cushions, one textured throw, a small side table with a book and a plant. The sofa now looks intentional instead of like an accident, and it gives the listing a "that's the one with the teal sofa" hook that guests remember while comparing tabs.
Fix 3: Turn the balcony corner into a morning moment

The dining table sat against the balcony door with nothing on it. We cleared it, added two place settings, a carafe and a small plant, and shot it in morning light. That photo answers a question guests always ask themselves: can I picture my first coffee here? In Alpine Austria, a sunny breakfast corner shows another way to enjoy the space.
Fix 4: Make the bed alcove feel like a retreat

Mismatched bedding and a harsh ceiling light made the alcove feel cramped. We switched to crisp white linen, layered a textured throw at the foot, added warm bedside light and turned the overhead light off for the shoot. The alcove now reads as private and calm, which is what guests worry about most in an open-plan apartment.
Fix 5: Edit out the visual noise

Cables, remotes, chargers, spare chairs and a stack of manuals had all crept into frame. We packed away anything a guest wouldn't use on day one, hid the cables and kept surfaces to one or two objects each. Less stuff looks like more space in photos, every time.
Fix 6: Reshoot the listing, in the right order

The new photos need to show the styling clearly. Sofia shot the new listing photos the same weekend. The photos are included in the Refresh package, so there's nothing extra to book. We also reordered the gallery: wide room shot first, then the sofa, the balcony corner, the alcove, and the bathroom. The first five photos now tell the whole story before a guest taps "see all."
The result

Same apartment, same furniture footprint, one weekend. The listing now shows a bright, zoned, memorable apartment instead of a cluttered room. You can see the full before-and-after set in our portfolio.
